Data collection

Why do we collect and use your data? 

We conduct a survey to gather information on the motivation of young project professionals to pursue a project career.
Your participation in this survey is voluntary, and we appreciate your time and effort to complete it. 
 
By participating in this survey, you are agreeing to the following: 

  1. You understand the purpose of this survey, and you are providing your consent to participate. 
  2. You understand that your participation in this survey is entirely voluntary, and you can withdraw at any time without penalty.
  3. You understand that the information you provide in this survey will be kept confidential, and your anonymity will be maintained. 
  4. You understand that the information you provide may be used anonymously for research purposes and may be published in research reports or academic publications. 
  5. You have read and understood the above information about the confidentiality of the data provided and that you have been able to ask questions about the project and have had them answered. 

Data protection

We process your personal data in accordance with the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).  
 
The Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU) is responsible for data processing. Your personal data will only be processed for the purpose of the research project and on the basis of your voluntarily given consent. Data processing for a non-personal purpose is reserved, in compliance with the applicable legal provisions. 
 
You can revoke your consent at any time (for contact details, see: Responsibility and Contact WU). Your personal data will not be further processed after receipt of your revocation. This is without prejudice to the processing of anonymous data and any legal obligations to retain data. The revocation of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing until revocation. 
Your personal data will be processed with all due care and securely protected from access by unauthorised third parties. Only those persons have access to your data who need it to fulfill their tasks. The data remain with WU. They are stored on our servers in Austria. If necessary, we use third-party service providers and hosting partners. In these cases, WU takes the necessary measures to ensure compliance with the applicable data protection regulations.  
 
In accordance with good scientific practice, we only retain your personal data for as long as we consider it necessary for the purpose described above for which it is processed and your consent has not been revoked. This is subject to statutory retention obligations. 
 
The research results are always published in anonymised form (without any possible conclusions about your person). Your anonymised data may also be used by WU for other research projects and/or made available to and used by third parties for as yet undefined studies (in particular via databases or data storage systems/repositories).
